The Phantom of the Human Genome is an excellent documentary that highlights the weaknesses of the deterministic view that underlies the reductionist tendency of the biological sciences. In essence, it enables us to see and understand that the frantic race to decode DNA has not ultimately solved the puzzle of human existence. Thus, great researchers are now becoming aware of the narrow framework within which the science of genetics has been confined and pointing to the need to focus on the study of the evidence for the existence of another parameter, that of the epigenome. A new cycle of research is beginning.
